 What are the main news, trends and innovations in your market or sector?

In 2020, the Covid crisis overturned the business model of the retail sector, accelerating the rise of telecommuting and e-commerce. Retail companies have had to adapt from a traditional physical business model to a hybrid one, thanks to the support of the digital transition. Purchasing organizations and their departments now have three priorities: to optimize spending to ensure business profitability, to gain agility through scalable, digital solutions, and to improve productivity and efficiency while maintaining differentiation. Purchasing behaviors have also been transformed by the crisis, leading to an explosion in e-commerce for consumers, businesses and public bodies alike.

Faced with these profound changes, more and more companies and retailers are turning to digital purchasing solutions like ours to reconcile their purchasing needs with the new constraints of the market: a simple purchasing solution to save them time and money; in short, to focus on designing their real added value, the quality of customer service.

What are the features of your solution and who is it aimed at?

Inaugurated in 2018, Amazon Business is the solution offered by Amazon for professionals to streamline their purchasing processes - reducing costs, saving time, improving control and visibility, simplifying transactions - and help them achieve their corporate social responsibility objectives. Our platform offers companies and organizations a selection of over 250 million products at very competitive prices, delivered quickly, but with features designed specifically for them: 30-day payment on invoice, single accounting supplier, catalog customization, quantity discounts and purchasing control via approval circuits and budgets.

Every day, companies and public authorities buy products to run their businesses on Amazon Business. We support 15% of French SMEs, 90% of CAC 40 companies, over 4200 French schools and universities, and over 2800 town halls. During the Covid crisis, we supported over 300 healthcare establishments, hospitals and EPHADs, who continue to buy on our platform today.

At Amazon, we strive on a daily basis to understand customer needs and expectations, and to offer products and functions that are ever more relevant. The same goes for Amazon Business.

With this in mind, we redesigned our organization at the beginning of the year to organize ourselves by business sector and offer our customers optimum support. Retail companies benefit from personalized support from an account manager specializing in their sector.
