Portrait of Uber Direct

What are the main news, trends and innovations in your market or sector?

More and more, stores have a role to play in retailers' omni-commerce strategy. This forces them to adapt to integrate digital sales channels into their activities. The boundaries between online and in-store purchasing are becoming blurred, and consumers are keen to take advantage of new services offering ever greater flexibility (e-booking, click & collect, in-store online purchasing, express delivery). Delivery is one of these parameters at the heart of the purchasing decision: for almost 9 out of 10 e-consumers, delivery is an important choice criterion when buying online. Yet today, the delivery experience offered is often perfectible, which has a direct impact on conversion rates and customer retention: 9 out of 10 e-consumers have already abandoned their online shopping cart because of unsatisfactory delivery options, and 7 out of 10 have already switched to another brand whose delivery options suited them better. With this in mind, e-tailers have the opportunity to differentiate themselves by listening to consumers' desires in terms of delivery, and by reinforcing the reliability, flexibility, speed and eco-responsibility of their delivery offer.

What are the features of your solution, and who is it aimed at?

Uber Direct offers an on-demand bike delivery solution tailored to these new challenges, enabling retailers to offer their customers an express and slot delivery service from their stores in over 360 towns and cities in France. Uber Direct makes available to retailers its delivery expertise, technology and network of over 65,000 independent delivery drivers, to take charge of and deliver orders placed by their customers on their e-commerce site as quickly as possible.

The Uber Direct service integrates seamlessly into each e-retailer's customer journey, and is accessible via API and through its network of pre-connected partners (including a large number of POS, OMS, TMS, DMS). For merchants wishing to use delivery without technical integration, the Uber Direct dashboard available online enables them to register and make their first deliveries in just a few minutes.
